This Notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to residents of California. It is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA). Terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning here.

We use this information to operate and secure the website, measure audience, show advertising, respond to your messages and comply with the law. We do not use personal information for purposes incompatible with these.
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not ask for Social Security numbers, account numbers, financial information or government identifiers.

Disclosure, sale and sharing
In the last 12 months, we disclosed identifiers, internet or other electronic network activity and approximate geolocation, and, if you email us, your name, email address and message, to service providers that host the website, deliver content, provide security, email and audience measurement, under contracts that limit their use of it.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, allowing advertising and analytics partners to collect identifiers, internet activity, approximate geolocation and inferences through cookies on our website may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA. In the last 12 months, those categories were made available for that purpose to advertising networks (including Google), Lotame (an audience data platform) and analytics providers. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Your rights
As a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell and share, and access a copy of it.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
How to exercise your rights
To opt out of sale or sharing, use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our website, as explained on our Your Privacy Choices page. We treat Global Privacy Control signals as a valid request to opt out. The opt-out applies to the browser and device that sends the signal.
For other requests, email contact@unum.com.br with the subject line “California privacy request”. Because we do not hold accounts for visitors, we will verify your request by matching information you provide with the information we hold; we will ask only for what is strictly necessary. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your signed permission, and we may ask you to confirm your identity directly.
We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days, which we may extend by another 45 days, letting you know if we do.
We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.
