Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the UK edition of Unum (https://unum.com.br/gb/) and explains how your personal information is handled when you visit this website or contact us. It has been prepared in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.

1. Who is responsible for your information

601 Brickell Key Drive, Suite 901, Miami, FL 33131, United States
Email: contact@unum.com.br

Unum is an independent editorial website. It is not a bank or a lender, it does not submit applications on your behalf and it does not pass your information to financial providers. When you click on a product, you go to the provider’s official website, and any information you give there is the responsibility of that provider.

2. Information we collect

  • Browsing data: IP address, device and browser type, language, pages visited, date and time of your visit and referring page.
  • Online identifiers and information collected through cookies and similar technologies, according to the choices you have made (see section 5).
  • Contact details and the content of your messages, when you email us.
  • Quiz data: your name, your email address and your answers, when you complete the credit card or loan quizzes hosted at responda.unum.com.br.

We do not ask for identity documents, bank details, income or credit information, and we do not collect sensitive information. In the quizzes we ask only for your name, email address and answers to questions about your preferences. We do not ask for bank details, income or credit information, and we do not send your name or email address to Meta, TikTok or Google.

In the quizzes at responda.unum.com.br, one on credit cards and one on loans, you answer questions about your preferences and the quiz recommends, as editorial guidance based on Unum’s reviews, the card or loan that makes most sense for you. The quizzes do not assess your credit, do not check credit bureaus, do not decide on approvals and do not receive applications. We use your name, email address and answers to work out the recommendation and to email you the result, using ETUS’s own email tool. We send you Unum commercial emails only if you tick an optional box, which is not pre-ticked, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Your quiz result does not depend on that box.

4. Advertising

Unum is funded by advertising served by third-party networks, including Google (Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager), and, where indicated in the settings panel, by other advertising partners. If you consent, these networks, their partners and the audience data platform Lotame may use cookies and identifiers to build a profile of your interests and show you ads based on your visits to this and other websites. If you do not consent, Google may show limited ads, which do not use cookies or identifiers to personalise advertising.

You can find out how Google uses information from sites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and turn off personalised Google ads at https://myadcenter.google.com/.

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

The quizzes at responda.unum.com.br are landing pages for ads that Unum runs on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Google. If you accept advertising cookies in the consent banner shown on the quiz page, the Meta, TikTok and Google pixels and tags are activated to measure which ads lead to the quizzes (conversions). The providers are Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd./Meta Platforms, Inc., TikTok Technology Limited/TikTok Inc. and Google. If you do not accept, they are not activated and you can still complete the quiz. Advanced matching (Meta and TikTok) and enhanced conversions (Google) are turned off, so your name and email address are not sent to these networks. The quizzes do not show Google Ad Manager ads.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies, including those of Google, Lotame (panoramaId, _cc_id), our own measurement tool (__br_*) and the Meta, TikTok and Google pixels used in the quizzes, as described in our Cookie Policy.

6. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as needed with:

  • Service providers that host the website, deliver content, provide security, email and audience measurement, acting on our behalf and under our instructions.
  • Google, advertising partners and Lotame, in line with the choices you made in the cookie settings.
  • Quiz data (name, email address and answers): only ETUS DIGITAL LLC and the hosting providers and the email tool that process it on our behalf. We do not pass it to banks, lenders or partners.
  • Meta, TikTok and Google, only for the pixel identifiers and only if you consent to advertising cookies.
  • Authorities and courts, where the law requires it.

7. International transfers

ETUS DIGITAL LLC is established in the United States, so your data is processed there and may be processed in other countries by our service providers. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For our hosting and content delivery providers, Lotame and our own measurement tool, we rely on the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, approved under UK law. You can ask for more information at contact@unum.com.br. Quiz data is stored in the United States by ETUS DIGITAL LLC and its providers, with the safeguards described in this section. Meta and TikTok may process pixel data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards they state in their terms.

8. How long we keep your information

  • Google Analytics event data: up to 14 months. The _ga cookie lasts up to 2 years.
  • Logs from our own measurement tool and technical logs: up to 2 years, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Emails you send us: up to 2 years.
  • Quiz data (name, email address and answers): up to 2 years, or until you withdraw your consent or unsubscribe, in the case of commercial emails.
  • Other information collected through cookies: for the period shown for each cookie in the settings panel or set by the third party.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability and to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before you withdrew it.

If you receive Unum commercial emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by emailing contact@unum.com.br.

To exercise your rights, email contact@unum.com.br with the subject line “Privacy request” and tell us which right you want to exercise. If we need to verify your identity, we will ask only for what is strictly necessary. Exercising your rights is free.

10. Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, you can make it to us by emailing contact@unum.com.br with the subject line “Data protection complaint”. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it, look into it without undue delay, keep you informed and tell you the outcome.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/).

11. Children

This website is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we find that we have, we will delete it.

12. Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, such as encrypted connections, access controls and system monitoring.

13. Third-party websites

Our content links to the official websites of banks and other providers. Those websites have their own privacy policies, for which Unum is not responsible.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version will always be published on this page with its date, and we will flag significant changes on the website.
