WesBank Motorcycle Finance: prepare your application for a bike from a private seller

Keep the bike you found privately in your plans. Start with the right seller option and prepare the paperwork for your finance assessment.

WesBank Motorcycle Finance

Choose “A private seller” in the bike assistant. Vehicle finance needs original or certified ID, licence, payslip and a utility bill up to three months old.

Start with your seller, then prepare the figures behind your application

In vehicle finance, income and expenses determine your credit amount. Include debts and regular payments. Approval depends on credit and affordability checks.

Calculator figures and rates are estimates, confirmed when finalising the transaction. Products, fees and costs can change before your final pre-agreement quote.

How your interest rate and finance fees are set

WesBank, a division of FirstRand Bank, sets vehicle-finance interest using your credit rating and history, within the National Credit Act limit. Your rate shapes your borrowing cost.

For vehicle finance, the once-off initiation fee lets you pay upfront or add it to the debt. Adding it attracts interest. A lender-set service fee also applies.

FAQ

What happens if I miss a monthly motorcycle finance repayment?

Under general vehicle-finance rules, missed payments attract extra interest and can damage your payment record and credit rating.

Will returning my motorcycle clear the remaining finance debt?

Under general vehicle-finance rules, if the vehicle’s sale does not cover your account balance, you still owe the difference.

Can I settle my motorcycle finance agreement early?

For initial principal below R249,999.99, settle sums owed. From R250,000, 90 days’ notice replaces a settlement charge.

Can extra monthly payments reduce my interest?

General vehicle-finance rules let you pay extra monthly for less interest overall. You cannot withdraw those extra payments later.
