Titanium Credit Card (Standard Bank)

You need income of R25 000 or more a month, or a postgraduate degree, for the Standard Titanium Card. You must also be over 18.

Your personalised interest rate varies with Prime. Standalone fees are R110 monthly, even with unused benefits. A Prestige Banking Account bundle waives service and card fees.

Unbundle and both fees return; other fees apply. Petrol and other cash debts draw interest immediately. Credit checks and FICA apply even with a postgrad degree.

Your interest rate and the charges behind your card

Standard Bank sets the margin linking your rate to Prime in your offer. Standalone monthly fees are R40 for service and R70 for the card. A R200 initiation fee applies; fees include VAT.

Petrol, withdrawals, electronic transfers and bill payments draw interest on debt immediately until repaid. So do travellers’ cheques, online gambling, casino chips and forex.

FAQ

Which documents should I prepare if I do not already have an account?

Bring your South African ID (passport for non-citizens), recent payslip, three months’ statements and proof of address up to three months old.

Does Standard Titanium charge an annual fee as well as monthly fees?

There is no annual fee, but monthly fees and the once-off initiation fee still apply. The Prestige bundle waives only monthly fees.

What does it cost to buy from a foreign retailer?

You pay 2.75% of the transaction’s rand value, including online purchases from foreign retailers while you are in South Africa.

Can I have my Titanium card delivered at no charge?

Yes. Branch and face-to-face delivery is free. The cost of express delivery to a branch or face-to-face is R500.
