FNB Private Clients Credit Card: prepare your documents and start your application

Your residence and income documents come first. Prepare the identification your residency status requires, then apply through the FNB App.

FNB Private Clients Credit Card

Bring address proof in your name, at most 3 months old. Add your latest payslip or 3 months’ bank statements. SA residents need a barcoded SA ID or valid SA passport.

Your documents start the application; full repayment keeps interest-free days

Approval depends on FNB’s qualifying criteria. Miss full payment by the due date and interest-free days stop. Interest runs from each transaction or fee until you repay in full.

On credit, withdrawals, travellers cheques, some forex, debit-balance EFTs, budget, balance transfers, Petro fuel-related and cash buys bear interest on use.

Your interest rate and the fees you pay each month

Your interest rate is personalised; find it on your account and card statements. FNB charges R180 monthly for the card account and R30 monthly for the credit facility.

Both fees are included in FNB Fusion Private Clients and Current Account or Single Facility monthly fees. An initiation fee is charged only once.

Your questions answered

How does FNB calculate interest when I use the credit facility?

Interest on your credit facility is calculated daily, then capitalised and charged monthly at the rate in your quotation.

What extra charges apply when I make international card purchases?

You pay 2.75% of the purchase value, capped at R125, plus 2.75% currency conversion. The cap applies only to the purchase fee.

Which permit do I need as a non-SA resident?

Your passport must come with a valid work or retirement permit. This is the identification requirement for non-SA residents.

Can FNB call me to help start my card application?

Yes. Leave your first name, surname, phone number and email in the callback form. This requests contact, not a full application.
