Standard Bank Blue Credit Card: check your eligibility and prepare your application

Earning R5 000 a month meets Blue's income requirement. Your age and documents matter too: prepare the proof your application needs.

Blue Credit Card (Standard Bank)

You must be over 18. Prepare a copy of your South African ID, or passport if you are not a citizen. Bring residence proof no older than three months.

What to prepare for your Blue application, and two rules that affect your costs

For branch or callback requests, bring a recent payslip and three months’ bank statements. Bundled products waive service and card fees until you unbundle.

Cash-type transactions incur interest from transaction date until paid off if they create a debit balance. Approval requires credit checks and FICA compliance.

Your interest rate and the fees you still pay

Your interest rate is personalised and variable, linked to Standard Bank’s prime rate by a set margin. Part A of your agreement gives your individual rate and margin.

Without a bundle, Standard Bank’s R40 monthly service fee totals R480 over 12 months. You also pay R200 once, including VAT, but no annual fee.
