Blue Credit Card: get ready for your instant quote with the right income and documents

Your Blue quote starts with income of at least R5 000 a month. Prepare your proof of earnings before using the Call Me Back form.

Blue Credit Card (Standard Bank)

Get a Blue quote via Call Me Back. You need at least R5 000 monthly, a recent payslip and three months’ bank statements. Approval needs credit and FICA checks.

Prepare for your quote, then separate eligible purchases from fuel costs

Eligible point-of-sale buys get up to 55 interest-free days with the full balance paid by its due date. Cash advances creating debt incur interest from day one until fully repaid.

Cash advances include withdrawals, travellers’ cheques, foreign exchange, casino chips, fuel, and electronic card-account purchases or transfers.

Your interest rate comes before the fixed fees

Your interest rate is personalised and variable, linked to the Prime Interest Rate. Your bank-set margin appears in Part A of your agreement. A Prime change can change your interest cost.

Standard Bank charges R40 monthly for service and R200 once to start, both VAT-inclusive. Bundles waive service and card fees; both apply if you unbundle.

FAQ

Will an overseas online purchase cost extra while I’m in South Africa?

Yes. International merchants’ purchases attract a 2.75% fee on the rand value, including VAT, even when you shop from home.

Does the minimum monthly payment keep my Blue purchases interest-free?

No. The minimum is 3% of your balance; automatic payment is available. Interest-free buys need the full balance paid by its due date.

Can I increase my Blue credit limit through the app?

You can update your limit in the Banking App. An increase requires a fresh assessment of your ability to repay under the NCA.

Can I have my Blue card delivered without a delivery fee?

Normal delivery to a branch or your chosen address is free. Express delivery to either costs R500, including VAT.
